AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ORDINANCE CODE OF
THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA; AMENDING
CHAPTER 22, ARTICLE III, DIVISION 7, TO REWRITE
IN ITS ENTIRETY SECTION 22-166, PROVIDING
QUARTERLY SEWER BASE CHARGES AND EPA/DER
MANDATED REVENUE GENERATION CHARGES; PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic
Beach, Florida, as follows:
Section 1. Chapter 22, Article III, Division 7, Section 22-166,
is hereby amended to read as follows:

UTILITIES
ARTICLE III - WASTEWATER SYSTEM
DIVISION 7 SEWER USE USER RATES AND CHARGES
Section 22-166. Establishment of a quarterly base charge.
User charges will be levied quarterly as follows:
{}}(a) Quarterly Base Charge
A quarterly base charge of $37.60 per equivalent residential
unit will be levied upon each connection in accordance with the follow-
ing:
An equivalent residential unit (ERU) is defined as a wastewa-
ter connection that delivers 300 gallons per day (gpd) of typically
domestic wastewater flow to the waste stream, or equivalently, as one

The quarterly base charge is levied as follows:
Single Family Residential $37.60 per account
Multi-family Residential 0.75 x $37.60 per unit
Mobile Home 0.75 x $37.60 per unit
Travel trailers 0.60 x $37.60 per site
Hotel/Motel 0.50 x $37.60 per unit
(with kitchen) 0.60 x $37.60 per unit
Commercial $37.60 x ERC Factor
where the ERC factor for the Commercial classification is based upon
meter size as follows:

Where the inside factors are multiplied by 1.50 to yield the outside
factors because of a 50% outside surcharge.
(b) Quarterly base surcharge for revenue generation system
required by the Federal Environmental Protection Agency and the State
Department of Environmental Regulation.
A surcharge of $5.50 per equivalent residential unit shall be
levied upon each connection except in the Buccaneer Water and Sewer
District in accordance with the following:
Usage Classification ERU Factor
Single Family residential 1.00 per account
Multi family residential 0.75 per unit
Mobile home 0. 75 per unit
Travel trailer site 0.60 per site
Hotel/Motel 0.50 per unit
With kitchen 0.60 per unit
Commercial $5.50 x ERC Factor
as provided in (a) above
Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect with the quarter
beginning April 1, 1986.
