Ordinance No. 80-86-33 v ORDINANCE NO. 80-86-33 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ORDINANCE CODE OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA; AMENDING CHAPTER 22, ARTICLE II, SECTION 22-23 TO PROVIDE FOR TESTING OF METERS; PROVIDING FOR CHARGES; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Commission of Atlantic Beach, Florida: Section 1. Chapter 22, Article II, Section 22 - 23 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Atlantic Beach, Florida is hereby amended to read as follows: CHAPTER 22 UTILITIES ARTICLE II. WATERWORKS SYSTEM Section 22-23 Testing of Meters; Liability for cost of testing; Adjustment of bills. Upon written request of a consumer, the meter will be tested by the City. The City will require a deposit to defray cost of testing. Such deposit shall not exceed the following schedule of fees: Meter Size Fee 5/8" x 3/4" $10.00 1" and 11/2" 12.50 2" 15.00 Above 2" Actual cost If the meter, when tested, is found to be not more than two (2) percent fast, the deposit shall be forfeited to the city as a service charge for conducting the test; otherwise, the expense of the test will be borne by the City and billing adjustments for a period not to exceed six (6) months will be made. The City at any time, without charge, will make a field test of the accuracy of the water meter in use at the customer's premises provided the meter has not been tested within the past six (6) months. Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
