ORDINANCE NO. 80-91-45
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, AMENDING CHAPTER 22,
UTILITIES, SECTION 22-28, CHARGES FOR WATER SERVICE,
AND SECTION 22-166, ESTABLISHMENT OF A QUARTERLY
BASE CHARGE, AND SECTION 22-167, SCHEDULE OF
WASTEWATER VOLUME CHARGES, BY AMENDING THE CHARGES
SET FORTH THEREIN, PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC
BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. Section 22-28 of Chapter 22, Utilities, is hereby
amended to read as follows:
Section 22-28. Charges for water service.
The reasonable rates, rentals, fees and other charges for the use
of the services and facilities of the city waterworks system are hereby
found and determined to be and are hereby fixed and established as
follows:
(1) Customers Within City:
a. Single units. The minimum bill for a single unit shall be for
fifteee-thetissed-4;7800} nine thousand (9,000) gallons of water, and
shall be nine dollars ($9.00) per quarter. All water used in excess of
i4fteea-theeseed-{1§;AAA} nine thousand gallons shall be charged at the
rate of fere-fve-eeats-4 Q-4%)one dollar ($1 .00) per thousand (1,000)
gallons.
b. Multiple units. For multiple units served through the same
meter, the rates and minimums shall be in accordance with the following
scale. All excess gallonage shall be charged for at the same rate
provided for single units above.

For each additional unit over seven (7) there will be a minimum charge
of $3.75 for 672R) 3,750 gallons per unit.
(2) Customers outside the city: The rates applicable to customers
outside of the city shall be ene-ead-erre-heff-{i-f71.2} one and
one-quarter (1 .25) times the above rate applicable to customers inside
the city.

SECTION 2. Section 22-166 of Chapter 22, Utilities, is hereby
amended to read as follows:
Section 22-166. Establishment of a quarterly base charge.
User charges will be levied quarterly as follows:
(a) Quarterly base charge. A quarterly base charge of th4 ty
seven-dellars-and-slmty-eeats-434760} twenty dollars and twenty-five
cents ($20.25) per equivalent residential unit will be levied upon each
connection in accordance with the following:
An equivalent residential unit (ERU) is defined as a wastewater
connection that delivers three hundred (300) gallons per day (gpd) of
typically domestic wastewater flow to the waste stream, or equivalency,
as one five-eighths (5/8) inch by three-fourths (3/4) inch water meter.
The quarterly base charge is levied as follows:
Single-family residential $37-60 $20.25 per account
Multi-family residential 0.75 x $3;-60 $20.25 per unit
Mobile home 0.75 x $37-64 $20.25 per unit
Travel trailers 0.60 x $37760 $20.25 per site
Hotel/motel 0.50 x *34760 $20.25 per unit

(b) The rates applicable to customers outside of the city shall be
one and one-quarter (1 .25) times the rates above.

413} (c) Quarterly base surcharge for revenue generation system
required by the Federal Environmental Protection Agency and the State
Department of Environmental Regulation.
A surcharge of five dollars and fifty cents ($5.50) per equivalent
residential unit shall be levied upon each connection except in the
Buccaneer Water and Sewer District in accordance with the following:

SECTION 3. Section 22-167 of Chapter 22, Utilities, is hereby
amended to read as follows:
Section 22-167. Schedule of Wastewater volume charges.
(a) There is hereby established a uniform volume charge per one
thousand (1 ,000) gallons of water as follows:

SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage and adoption.
