Ordinance No. 80-94-54 v ORDINANCE NO. 80-94 -54 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING SEC. 22-14 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES BY ADDING A NEW SUBSECTION TO PROHIBIT THE START OF WATER SERVICE FOR RENTAL PROPERTIES UNLESS THE RENTAL PROPERTY IS IN COMPLIANCE WITH ALL CITY CODES AND ANY LIENS DUE THE CITY ARE PAID, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach, Florida: SECTION 1. Sec. 22-14 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Atlantic Beach, Florida, is hereby amended by adding a new subsection (b) , which subsection shall read as follows: "Sec. 22-14 Application for water service. (a) It shall be unlawful for any person to use city water without first making application in writing to the city for service at least forty-eight (48) hours before the service is desired and paying all charges incident to the application. The applications shall be made on forms furnished by the city and shall constitute an agreement by the consumer with the city to abide by the rules of the city in regard to its service of water. Applications for service requested by firms, partnerships, associa- tions and corporations shall be tendered only by their duly authorized agents, and the official title of the agent shall be shown on the application. (b) Applications for service requested by owners or tenants of rental properties, whether residential and commercial, shall not be approved unless the rental prot'erty for which service is requested is in compliance with all city codes, and any liens due the city on said property are paid in full.
