Please be advised, the City of Atlantic Beach Code of Ordinances includes rules and regulations governing
construction activities and also maintenance standards for property within the City. These standards are set forth
in the International Property Maintenance Code and the Florida Building Code and were adopted as part of the
City of Atlantic Beach Code of Ordinances in Chapter 6, Article II, Section 6-16.
A code enforcement inspection at 975 SEMINOLE RD was conducted on 1/27/2023. The City of Atlantic Beach
Code Enforcement has found your property to be in violation of the City of Atlantic Beach Code of Ordinances:
NATURE OF VIOLATION: The block wall surrounding your back yard along Seminole Rd is in need of repair.
A section of the wall has been shifted causing the concrete the crack and the integrity to be compromised. The
wall could collapse and is a danger.
APPLICABLE CODES:
Sec. 24-157. Fences,Walls and Similar Structures(e) Maintenance of fences. Fences that have been allowed to
deteriorate to an excessive degree have a negative impact on property values and the quality of neighborhoods.
Fences that are in a state of neglect, damage or disrepair, shall be repaired, replaced or removed.
IPMC Sec. 108.1.5 3.Any portion of a building, structure or appurtenance that has been damaged by fire,
earthquake,wind,flood, deterioration,neglect, abandonment, vandalism, or by any other cause to such an extent
that it is likely to partially or completely collapse, or to become detached or dislodged.
IPMC Sec. 108.1.5 5.The building or structure or part of the building or structure, because of dilapidation,
deterioration,decay, faulty construction,the removal or movement of some portion of the ground necessary for
the support,or for any other reason, is likely to partially or completely collapse,or some portion of the foundation
or underpinning of the building or structure is likely to fail or give way.
IPMC Section 108.1.5 6.The building or structure, or any portion thereof is clearly unsafe for its use or
occupancy.
ACTION TO CORRECT: This letter requests that the noted violation(s) be corrected by obtaining a
permit and repairing or replacing the damaged section(s) of wall within ten (10) days of the receipt of this
notice.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. Failure to correct the violation by the required date may result in
this case being referred to the Code Enforcement Special Magistrate resulting in fines up to two hundred fifty
dollars ($250.00) per day. Upon completion of the action required, it is your responsibility to contact me and

Atlantic Beach Code Enforcement has found your property to be in violation of the City of Atlantic Beach Code
of Ordinances:

wall could collapse and is a danger. A permit was approved on to complete the repair 2/22/23 to complete the
repair but was subsequently voided at the contractors request. To date,no other permit applications have been
received and the wall is still a danger.
