Ordinance No. 90-86-104 v ORDINANCE NO. 90-86-104 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ORDINANCE CODE OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 24, SECTION 24-104, TO PROVIDE FOR HOME OCCUPATIONS AS A USE BY EXCEPTION EXCEPT WHERE OTHERWISE PRO- HIBITED BY COVENANTS AND RESTRICTIONS; AMENDING SECTION 24-111, SUB-PARAGRAPH (b) (1) TO PROVIDE FLORISTS INCLUDING SILKS AS A PERMITTED USE IN A COMMERCIAL GENERAL DISTRICT; AMENDING SECTION 24- 111 SUBPARAGRAPH (b) (2) TO PROVIDE LAWN CARE SERVICE, PEST CONTROL COMPANIES AND SIMILAR USES AS PERMITTED USES UNDER SERVICE ESTABLISHMENTS; AMENDING CHAPTER 24-111 SUB-PARAGRAPH (c) (7) TO PROVIDE FOR THE USE OF MINI-WAREHOUSES BY EXCEPT- ION; AMENDING SECTION 24-111 SUBPARAGRAPH (c) (8) TO PROVIDE FOR MOTELS AS A USE BY EXCEPTION; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach, Florida: Section 1. Chapter 24 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Atlantic Beach, Florida is hereby amended to read as follows: CHAPTER 24 ZONING AND SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS Section 24-104, RS-1 Residential Single-Family District. (a) . The RS-1 Districts are intended for development of low density single-family residential areas. (b) Permitted uses. The uses permitted in this district are as follows: (1) Single Family dwellings; (2) Accessory uses; (3) Planned Unit Developments; (4) Government buildings and facilities (c) Uses by Exception: (1) Churches; (2) Public and Private Recreational facilities; (3) Schools; (4) Home occupations Section 24-111, CG Commercial General Districts, Sub-paragraph (b) (1) (b) (2) , (c) (7) , and (c) (8) are hereby amended to read as follows: CHAPTER 24 ZONING AND SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS Section 24-111, CG Commercial General Districts. (a) Intent. PAGE 2 (a) The CG Districts are intended to provide general retail sales for the city as a whole. These districts should have direct access to major thoroughfares and are well suited for development of community shopping centers. (b) Permitted uses. The uses permitted are as follows: (1) Retail outlets for the sale of food and drugs, wearing apparel, toys, sundries, sundries and notions, books and stationery, luggage, jewelry, art, florist including silks, cameras, photographic supplies, sporting goods, hobby shops and pet shops (not animal kennel or veterinarian) , bakery (but not wholesale bakery) , home furnishings and appliances, office equipment and furniture, hardware, lumber and building materials, auto parts, and similar uses; (2) Service establishments such as barber or beauty shop, shoe repair, restaurant, gymnasium, laundry or dry cleaner, funeral home, job printing, radio and television repairs, lawn care service, pest control companies, and similar uses; (c) Uses by exception. In these districts, uses by exception are as follows: (7) Limited warehousing, -no-1=i - •i1 ase r including mini-warehouses. (8) Reserved. Motels Section 3.
