AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ORDINANCE CODE
OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA;
AMENDING THE LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE AND
THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF
ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA TO REZONE LAND
OWNED BY AMERICAN ALLOYS AND REFRACTORIES
COMPANY, AND DESCRIBED AS LOTS 1 & 2,
BLOCK 70, SECTION H; FROM RGI RESIDENTIAL
GENERAL TO CG COMMERCIAL GENERAL AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, The Advisory Planning Board has considered a
request to change a zoning classification submitted by
American Alloys and Refractories Company and conducted a
public hearing on same on July 15, 1986, and
WHEREAS, The City Commission does exercise its powers
to amend the Land Development Code, including the Official
Zoning Map, in order to encourage the appropriate use of
land, and
WHEREAS, The rezoning is consistent with the
Comprehensive Plan, and the rezoning will not adversely
effect the health and safety of the residents of the area,
and will not be detrimental to the natural environment or to
the use or development of the adjacent properties in the
general neighborhood,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA as follows;
Section 1. The Official Zoning Map of the City of
Atlantic Beach is hereby changed to reflect the new zoning
of propety herein described from RG1 Residential General to
CG Commercial General.
Section 2. This ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.
