Ordinance No. 95-59-2 v ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE REGISTRATION OF EVERY PERSON ENGAGED IN THE BUSINESS OF DOOR TO DOOR SOLICITING: PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF SAME AND PROVIDING THE EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH THAT Section 1. Every person engaged in the business of door to door selling or soliciting, except solicitors or agents of life or other insurance who hold license issued by the Insurance Commissioner of the State of Flo'^ida or employees or agents of established businesses in Duval County, shall, before commencing such business make application to the Chief of Police and be fingerprinted. After proper investigation the Chief of Police shall issue to applicant a registration card showing all perti- nent information and bearing small photograph of applicant. Section 2. Upon pre::senta,.ti_on of 'poroved registration card to the City Clerk and upon payment of proper occupational license fee, applicant shall be permittl to corduct his business within the City of Atlantic Beach. Approved registration card shall be carried on the person obtaining the same at all times while engaged in said business. In case of loss or defacement of registration card, applicant shall immediately apply to the Chief of Police for a duplicate. Section 3. That any person violating any provisions of this Ordinance shall, upon conviction, be fined not more than $50.00 or imprisonment of not more than 30 days. Section 4. That this Ordinance shall become effective on May 15, 1959.
