ORDINANCE NO. 95-86-29
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ORDINANCE CODE
OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA;
AMENDING CHAPTER 5, ARTICLE I, TO CREATE
SECTION 5-8, WHICH SAID SECTION SHALL
PROHIBIT ANIMALS ON BEACH BETWEEN
MAY 1ST AND OCTOBER 1ST OF EACH YEAR;
AMENDING CHAPTER 4, ARTICLE 1, TO CREATE
SECTION 4-9 PROHIBITING ANIMALS ON THE
BEACH DURING CERTAIN TIMES OF THE YEAR;
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic
Beach, Florida:
Section 1. Chapter 5, Article I is hereby amended to add a new
Section 5-8, which said section shall read as follows:
CHAPTER 5
BEACHES
ARTICLE I. IN GENERAL

Section 5-8. Animals Prohibited on the beach during certain times
of the year
It shall be unlawful for any person to allow an animal or animals of any
kind on any area of the ocean beach bounded on the south by an easterly
extension of Atlantic Boulevard to the Atlantic Ocean, on the west by
the existing seawall, on the north by an easterly extension of the north
boundary line of the City of Atlantic Beach to the Atlantic Ocean, and
on the east by the ocean, during the period May 1st through October 1st
of any calendar year. Violation of this section shall be punishable as
provided by Section 1-11 herein.
Section 2. Chapter 4, Article 1 is hereby amended to add a new
Section 4-9, which said section shall read as follows:

Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its adoption.
