Mitigation for removed trees shall come in the form of planting trees on site, paying into the tree fund or a combination of the two. The china berry tree does not require mitigation as it is an invasive species. A total of 5” of mitigation is owed. Below is information about meeting mitigation: · Oak trees shall be replaced with oak trees. · Planting a live oak will result in double credit (ex: 5” live oak = 10” of credit) · New oaks shall have at least a 4” caliper and be 12 feet in height. · The tree fund rate is $150.00 per inch owed ($750.00). Example ways to meet mitigation: · Plant 1- 4” live oak = 8” of credit · Pay for all owed ($750.00) The next step is to submit a mitigation plan.
