AN ORDINANCE Regulating the Disposition of Garbage
in the Town of Atlantic Beach, Florida , and Prescribing the Persons
Fn ;itled to Collec ion of Garbage by the '-'own:
BE IT ORD IN1D BY THE MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL OF
THE TON OF ATLANTIC B 'SACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. No person shall place or deposit any garbage ,
trash or other refuse in any of the streets, alleys or ways of the
Town of Atlantic Beach or upon any other property of , or under the
jurisdiction of, said Town, except (a) bona fide residents of and
within the corporate limits of said Town , or (b ) persons residing in
a building in said Town, the owner of which building pays taxes to the
Town: PROVIDED, HO ,EVER , that any person not coming within the
qualifications of this Section of this Ordinance may make written
application to the Mayor for a permit to deposit and have collected
garbage ; and if such permit shall be granted and if the applicant
shall pay the Town Clerk the sum of Ten ( 10.00) Dollars, then Bach
person may deposit grabage to be collected and disposed of by the Town
during the period of twelve (12) months then next ensuing,
Section 2. Any and all garbage, trash or other refuse
placed in any of the streets , alleys or ways of said Town or upon any
property under the jurisdiction or control of the Town, shall be placed
for collection only and not permanently; and shall not be placed in
any street or way or upon any side walk so as to impede or endanger
vehicular or pedestrian Traffic ; it shall be deposited in suitable
and sufficient containers; and as• soon as such garbage , trash or refuse
is collected such containers shall be forthwith removed by the owners
thereof.

Section 3. Any person violating any provision of this
Ordinance or failing or refusing to obey any 1vvision of this Ordinance
shall, upon conviction , be fined not more than Twenty-five (425.00)
Dollars or imprisoned not more than Five (5) days; and each such

Passed by the Town Council on first and second
readings July 28th 1937; passed by the Town Council on third-
reading August 3, 1937 by the unanimous vote of all the members
present; submitted ;,o the Mayor August 5th , 1937.
