AN ORDINANCE Governing the Establishment of Arterial Highways
in and Throughout the Corporate Limits of the Town of Atlantic Beach,Florida;
Providing for Suitable Regulations to Carry into Effect the Provisions and
Intent of this Ordinance ; and Prescribing Certain Penalties for the Violation
Hereof.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN
OF ATLANTIC BEACH, DU'f AL COUNTY, FLORIDA:
Section 1: The Mayor and Chairman of the Police Committee
of the Town of Atlantic Beach are hereby authorized and directed, in their
discretion, to designate as arterial highways such streets in the Town of
Atlantic Beach as they may deem proper to best subserve and promote free move-
ment of traffic at all times.
Section 2: All vehicles traveling along an arterial highway
shall have the right cf way at street intersections over all vehicles travel-
ing along streets or alleys intersecting said arterial highway.
Section 3: All vehicles traveling along streets or alleys
intersecting an arterial highway shall before entering upon or into said
arterial highway come to a full stop, and shall protect vehicles traveling
along said arterial highway.
Section 4: The Mayor and Chairman of the Police Committee
are hereby authorized and directed, in their discretion, to install "stop"
lights or such other traffic signals as they may deem necessary to designate
arterial highways referred to in Section 1.
Section 5: The foregoing Sections shall not be construed
so that persons using either said arterial highways or streets entering
same will be relieved from the burden of exercising due care and diligence
in the operation of vehicles.

Section 6: Any person who violates any of the provisions of
Sections 1 to 5 inclusive , shall upon conviction in the Municipal Court ,
for each offense , be punished by fine not exceeding One Hundred Dollars
