AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED "An Ordinance
Providing for the Zoning of the Town of Atlantic Beach, Duval County,
Florida, Under and Pursuant to Chapter 19688 of the Laws of Florida,
Special Acts of 1939, entitled K An Act Authorizing the Town of
Atlantic Beach, Florida , to provide for and prescribe zoning
regulations; end repealing -Chapter 16318, Laws of Florida , Special
Acts of 1933, entitled 'AN ACT to provide and Authorize the Town
of Atlantic Beach, Duval County , Florida, to provide and prescribe
zoning regulations'
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA That
Section 1 An Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance Providing
for the Zoning of the Town of Atlantic Beach , Duval County, Florida,
Under and pursuant to Chapter 19688 of the Laws of Florida, Special
Acts of 1939 , entitled 'An Act authorizing the Town of Atlantic
Beach , Florida , to provide for, and prescribe zoning regulations;
and repealing Chapter 16313 , Laws of Florida, Special Acts of 1933,
entitled An Act to provide end authorize the Town of Atlantic Beach,
DuvelDuvel County , Florida, to provide and prescribe zoning
regulations" be and the same is hereby amended by striking therefrom
sub -section 6 of Article IV entitled "Residence 'A' District';
and substituting therefor the. following words and figures, to wit:
6) Schools, coileRges, clubs, lodges, social and
community center buildings, except those a chief activity of which
is a gainful service or activity usually conducted as a business,
such as dancing or bowling, and provided therein no display or
advertising from the street, provided the approval of the Town
Council secured in the following manner and a copy of which is
first filed with the Building Inspector. Approval shell be only
given by the Tbwn Council by Resolution or Ordinance passed by a
three-fourths affirmative vote of a quorum present at a duly
constitucd regular or special meeting.
Section 2, This Ordiance shall take effect immediately
upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
