AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 50, ENTITLED "AN
ORDINANCE Providing for the Zoning of the Town of Atlantic
Beach, Duval County, Florida, Under and Pursuant to Chapter
196$$ of the Laws of Florida, Special Acts of 1949, Entitled
AN ACT Authorizing the Town of Atlantic Beach, Florida, to
Provide For, and Prescribe Zoning Regulations ; and Repealing
Chapter 16313 , Laws of Florida, Special Acts of 1933 , Entitled
AN Act to Provide and Authorize the Town of Atlantic Beach,
Duval County, Florida, to Provide and Prescribe Zoning
Regulations" .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF ATLANTIC BEACH, DUVAL COUNTY, FLORIDA,
SECTION L. That ARTICLE I of Ordinance No. 50, com-
monly known as the Zoning Ordinance, be and the same is
hereby amended by adding at the end thereof the following:
In addition to the Districts created, estab-
lished and designated by Article I of Ordinance No.
50, there is hereby created and established an ad-
ditional District to be known and designated as
Residence District D as shown on the supplementary
zoning map hereby adopted, established and ordained
and hereto attached and made a part hereof; and the
zoning map adopted, established and ordained by
Ordinance No. 50 is hereby amended in all respects
a` set forth and shown on the said supplementary
map made a part hereof.
The boundaries of said District D as indicated
on said supplementary map are intended to follow the
center line on streets and alleys or their extensions
or lot lines or their extensions as they existed at
the time of the passage of this Ordinance , but when
the boundary line does not coincide with any of the
aforesaid lines or where it is not located by di-
mensions shown on the said supplementary map, it
shall be deemed to be distant from the nearest known
point according to the scale of the said supplementary
map.
SECTION 2. That subparagraph (S) of ARTICLE III of
said Ordinance No. 50 be and the same is hereby amended to
read as follows :
S) IMiININIUM LOT COVERAGE.
In Residence Districts A, B and C the main
dwelling shall have , as a minimum, the following
enclosed coverage.
1) 750 square feet for a one story dwelling.
2 ) 600 square feet for a one and a one-half
two or three story dwelling.
In Residence .D. District , the main dwelling
shall have, as a minimum, anbk Inclosed coverage offivehundredsquarefeet.
SECTION 3 . Said Ordinance No. 50 is hereby further
amended by adding thereto an Article to be known and desig-
nated as Article VI-A immediately following Article VI of
said Ordinance No. 50 and reading as follows :
ARTICLE VI - A
RESIDENCE D DISTRICT
A) USES
Within Residence D District, as indicated on
the supplementary map, made a part of this Ordinance,
no building or premises shall be used and no building
or structure shall be erected which is intended or de-
signed to be used in whole or in part for any industry,trade, or any manufacturing or commercial purpose or
for other than one or more of the purposes and uses
specified in Articles IV (A) , Article V(A)and Article
VI (A) .
SECTION 4. Nothing contained in this Ordinance shallbeheldorconstruedtovary, alter or in any other manner
affect any of the provisions of said Ordinance No. 50 other
than as provided hereinabove.
