AN ORDINANCE Finding And Declaring That It
Is Necessary To The Public Safety and Wel-
fare That All That Area Of The Ocean Beach
Within The Corporate Limits Of Atlantic Beach
Easterly Of, And Within One Hundred (100) Feet
Of, The Bulkhead, Be Established As A Safety
Zone ; Establishing Such Area As A Safety Zone
And Prohibiting The Operation Of Vehicles There-
on And Providing Penalties For The Violation
Of This Ordinance.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE NAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF ATLANTIC BEACH , FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. Theliayor and Town Council of the Town of
Atlantic Beach, Florida, after full investigation have found
and hereby declare that it is necessary to the public safety
and welfare that all that area of the ocean beach within the
corporate limits of said town lying easterly of, and within
One Hundred (100) feet of, the bulkhead be, and the same is
hereby, established as a safety zone for the use of persons en-
gaged in bathing, sun bathing, games and similar recreational
activities and that vehicular traffic within said area be pro-
hibited.
The Mayor and Town Council of said Town,
after full investigation, have found and hereby declare that
the use of said area for vehicular traffic would not only be
dangerous to persons engaged in said recreational activities
but also , by reason of damage to said beach of said area by
recent storms, would be dangerous to any person attempting to
operate a vehicle within said area.
SECTION 2. It shall be unlawful for any person to pro-
pel, operate or drive any power driven vehicle or any vehicle
drawn by draft animal or bicycle at any time within or upon that
area of the ocean beach within the corporate limits of said Town
lying easterly of and within One hundred (100) feet of the bulk-
head.
SECTION 3 . Any person violating any of the provisions
of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine

not exceeding /0,0 or by imprisonment not exceeding
3 D days.
