A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY DF ATLANTIC BEACH,
FLORIDA, HONORING ALICE GARTLAND FOR HER
SERVICE ON THE CULTURAL ARTS BOARD
WHEREAS, Alice Gartland was appointed to the Cultural Arts Board in 1996 and has
served the people of Atlantic Beach with distinction; and
WHEREAS, Alice Gartland is recognized as aprimary spokesperson far the arts and is well
respected and appreciated in the Beaches area; and
WHEREAS, Alice Gartland has played a significant role in stirring the passions of this
community towards artistic and cultural events and issues; and
WHEREAS, under Alice Gartland's leadership Atlantic Beach has experienced many
positive cultural and artistic developments including First Night, Concerts in the Park, Teaching
assistance at Atlantic Beach Elementary School, and in addition, Atlantic Beach artists have gained
visibility through displays of their work both locally and in Tallahassee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE I'i' RESOLVED the City Commission of Atlantic Beach, Florida,
hereby expresses its deep appreciation for the contributions of Alice Gartlan d and extends heartfelt
gratitude on behalf of the citizens of Atlantic Beach, and wishes her much happiness in her future
endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be included in the official
minutes of the City of Atlantic Beach and a certified copy hereof be funaished to Alice Gartland.
