• A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA,
SUPPORTING LOCAL BILL J-1, CURRENTLY BEING CONSIDERED BY
THE DUVAL COUNTY LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION, WHICH WOULD
ANNEX THAT PORTION OF FLEET LANDING WHICH IS CURRENTLY
OUTSIDE THE CITY LIMITS OF ATLANTIC BEACH INTO THE CITY
OF ATLANTIC BEACH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
VVHEREAS, the Fleet Landing facility has certain newly acquired real property for
expansion which is outside the city limits of Atlantic Beach, although the majority of Fleet Landing
is inside the city limits of Atlantic Beach,
WHEREAS, is in the best interests of the City of Atlantic Beach that the entire Fleet
Landing facility be located within the city limits of Atlantic Beach, and a bill is currently being
considered by the Duval County Legislative Delegation to accomplish this, and
WHEREAS, the City of Atlantic Beach desires to support Local Bill J-1, which is currently
being considered by the Duval County Legislative Delegation to annex said real property of Fleet
Landing into the City of Atlantic Beach.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach
as follows:
• SECTION 1. The City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach does hereby state its
support for Local Bill J-1, currently being considered by the Duval County Legislative Delegation
for the 2001 State Legislative Session, which bill would annex into the City of Atlantic Beach that
portion of Fleet Landing which is currently outside the city limits of Atlantic Beach. A copy of
said Local Bill J-1 is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and by reference incorporated herein.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its final passage and
adoption.

9 former Public Records of said County, from the territory
10 of the Consolidated City of Jacksonville and annexing
11 such area to the City of Atlantic Beach; providing an
12 effective date .
13 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA:
14 Section 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of the Charter -
15 of the Consolidated City of Jacksonville and Duval County, or the
11116 Charter of the City of Atlantic Beach, andP ursuant to Section
17 171.0413 (6) , Florida Statutes, the following described area that is
18 a portion of Lot 1, Division 3 , together with a portion of Lot 1,
19 Division 4 , both of the Andrew DeWees Grant, Section 37, Township
20 2 South, Range 29 Easr_, Duval County, Florida according to the plat
21 recorded in Deed Book "AG" , pages 212 and 213 , of the former Public
22 Records of said County is excluded from the territory of the
23 Consolidated City of Jacksonville and is annexed to the City of
24 Atlantic Beach:
25 A portion of Lot 1, Division 3, together with a portion
26 of Lot 1, Division 4 , both of the Andrew DeWees Grant,
27 Section 37, Township 2 South, Range 29 East, Duval

5 For Point of Reference, commence at the Northwesterly
6 corner of Fairway Villas, as recorded in Plat Book 39 ,
7 Pages 22 and 22A, of the current Public Records of said
8 County, said Northwesterly corner also lying on the
9 Easterly right of way line of Mayport Road, also known as
10 State Road No. A-1-A (Highway No. 101) , a 100-foot road
11 right of way, (as shown on State of Florida Department of
12 Transportation right of way map, Section No. 72230- (2901)
13 2503, dated March 7, 1986) ; thence North 01°42 ' 10" West,
