These standards are set forth in the International Property Maintenance Code and the Florida Building Code and were adopted as part of the City of Atlantic Beach Code of Ordinances in Chapter 6, Article II, Section 6-16. We have received a complaint regarding the vehicles that are being stored on the north end of your property across the street from 195 Main St. A code enforcement inspection at 130 MAIN ST was conducted on 2/20/2024. The City of Atlantic Beach Code Enforcement has found your property to be in violation of the City of Atlantic Beach Code of Ordinances: NATURE OF VIOLATION: Multiple vehicles are being openly stored on the north end of the lot. Lots may not be used to store wrecked or inoperable vehicles. APPLICABLE CODES: Sec. 24-17 Junked vehicle shall mean any abandoned, discarded, or inoperable motor vehicle, including any boat, motorcycle,trailer and the like, with a mechanical or structural condition that precludes its ability for street travel or its intended use, or one that is dismantled, discarded, wrecked, demolished or not bearing current license tags. No such vehicle shall be parked or stored openly in any zoning district unless expressly permitted within that zoning district. IPMC Sec. 302.8 Motor Vehicles "No inoperative or unlicensed motor vehicle shall be parked or kept or stored on any premises, and no vehicle shall at any time be in a state of disrepair, major disassembly or in the process or being stripped or dismantled". This letter requests that the noted violation(s) be corrected by removing the vehicles from the property within ten (10) days of the receipt of this notice. Failure to correct the violation by the required date may result in this case being referred to the Code Enforcement Special Magistrate resulting in fines up to two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) per day.
