A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF A $10,000 DEPARTMENT OF
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION GRANT AND $10,000 CITY FUNDS TO
YEWTREE ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES TO CONDUCT AN INVENTORY
OF AND CREATE A MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR THE INVASIVE AND
EXOTIC SPECIES ON THE CITY'S COASTAL DUNES; AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CONTRACTS AND PURCHASE
ORDERS IN ACCORDANCE WITH AND AS NECESSARY TO
EFFECTUATE THE PROVISIONS OF THIS RESOLUTION; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Atlantic Beach was awarded a $10,000 Department of Environmental
Protection (DEP) grant with a match of $10,000 from the City of Atlantic Beach to conduct an
inventory of and create a management plan for the invasive and exotic species on the city's coastal
dunes; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to engage Yewtree Environmental Services to undertake this
project at a cost of $14,371.08.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach as
follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes the expenditure of a $10,000
Department of Environmental Protection grant and $10,000 in city funds to engage Yewtree
Environmental Services to conduct an inventory of and create a management plan for the invasive and
exotic species on the city's coastal dunes; and
SECTION 2. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute the
contract and such purchase orders in accordance with and as necessary to effectuate the provisions of
this Resolution; and
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
