AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE OPERATING BUDGET FOR
THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2023 AND ENDING
SEPTEMBER 30, 2024, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Charter of the City of Atlantic Beach requires that the City
Commission approve all budgetary increases and transfers at the fund level; and
WHEREAS, the nature of budgetary systems and those day-to-day decisions affecting
such budgetary systems require adjustments from time -to -time, and
WHEREAS, the City desires now to amend the current operating budget funds totaling
$654,700; additional funds required for the design and construction of the Atlantic Beach Ocean
Rescue Station. Per City of Jacksonville's Ordinance 2024-164 the City is expecting to receive a
grant totaling $200,000 from the City of Jacksonville to assist with construction of the lifeguard
station.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION ON BEHALF OF
THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA that:
SECTION 1. The Fiscal Year 2023/2024 Operating Budget is hereby amended as follows:

Fund Balance:
Total Expenses: 654 700
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED by the City Commission on first reading on the 11th day of March, 2024.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission on second and final reading on this 25th day
of March, 2024.
