We have been asked to address the insulation level used for the roof deck insulation in the load calcs we provide to Providence
Homes.
We have used R-21 insulation in these load calcs due to the fact that the foam is sprayed to a level of 6 inches over the roof deck
and roof joists. We are comfortable using this level since we inspect the insulation in every Providence home and ensure that the
foam has been applied to an average depth of 6 inches or better. If it does not meet this level we require that the Builder have
insulation contractor spray over to bring it up to 6 inches or better. In some cases it has been measured to be as deep as 10
inches.

The data sheet submitted with the foam states that 5 inches has R value R-19. That is equivalent to R3.8 per inch. It follows that
6 inches has R-value of R22.8 so in fact we are understating the insulation level by using R-21 in the calcs.
