Per your request we have visited the property at the above address on
2/22/2023 and our findings are as follows:
A. 12” D.B.H. sabal palm (Sabal palmetto) – this sabal palm had no visible
preexisting health or structural issues at the time of inspection.
B. 12” D.B.H. sabal palm (Sabal palmetto) – this sabal palm is shown on the tree
survey as being inside the property line of the parcel. According to the
boundary stakes on site, this sabal palm is on the neighboring property. This
sabal palm had no visible preexisting health or structural issues at the time of
inspection.
C. 13” D.B.H. sabal palm (Sabal palmetto) – this sabal palm is measured
incorrectly with the boots as a 14” DBH on the original tree survey. This
sabal palm had no visible preexisting health or structural issues at the time of
inspection.
D. 16” D.B.H. southern magnolia (Magnolia grandiflora) – this tree has a “V”
shaped codominant union with a large amount of response wood present.
There is also a split that has compartmentalized. The amount of response
wood found at the codominant union indicates that the union is failing.
Targets for this tree are the neighboring home and property, human traffic,
and the future home to be developed on this parcel. Using the TRAQ matrix,
it is determined that this tree has a high overall risk rating. There are no
mitigation options available to lower the high overall risk rating.

E. 11” D.B.H. sabal palm (Sabal palmetto) – this sabal palm has extensive decay
on the trunk. The depth of a large cavity on trunk is measured at
approximately 6” deep, visible on the west side of the trunk, approximately
4.5’ up from the base. Although palm trees can endure trunk decay more than
other species, the amount of decay on the trunk of this palm would give this
tree a high overall risk rating using the TRAQ matrix.
F. 15” D.B.H. American elm (Ulmus americana) – this tree is misidentified on
the original tree survey as a mulberry. This tree has a large “V” shaped
codominant union with included bark and response wood present. Response
wood found at the codominant union is an indicator that the union is on the
process of failing. The codominant union can be mitigated by installing a
cable system. A large decay pocket is found at the base of the buttress on the
east side of the trunk that extends into the trunk approximately 13 inches.
Three torsional splits with decay are found on various areas of the trunk.
There are three non-movable targets within the fall zone of this tree, the home
to the east, and two homes behind this parcel to the west. The future home on
this property will also be a target after development. Using the TRAQ matrix,
this tree has a high overall risk rating. Installing a cable system would not
lower the risk rating due to the amount of decay and torsional splits on the
trunk.
G. 14” D.B.H. sabal palm (Sabal palmetto) – this sabal palm was not found on
the property at the time of inspection.
H. 13” D.B.H. sabal palm (Sabal palmetto) – this sabal palm had no visible
preexisting health or structural issues at the time of inspection.
I. 12” D.B.H. sabal palm (Sabal palmetto) – this sabal palm had no visible
preexisting health or structural issues at the time of inspection.
J. 14” D.B.H. sabal palm (Sabal palmetto) – this sabal palm is measured
incorrectly on the original tree survey. The bud of this palm is lower than 4.5’
and is too small to be measured. This palm is undersized and is not protected.

K. Yaupon holly cluster (Ilex vomitoria) – this cluster is misidentified on the
original tree survey as a myrtle cluster. This is an epicormic growth cluster of
multiple small Yaupon holly trees. Using the pith trace method, it is
determined that some are conjoined, and some are codominant but all trees in
this cluster are undersized. If a tree has more than one pith at ground level, it
is considered to be a multitrunked tree and a tree must be at least 2” in
diameter and 10’ tall to be protected. Each stem should be measured
separately. The largest tree in this cluster is 4” inches in diameter but the
growth is epicormic and sprouted from an old stump which makes the
attachment very weak. These trees are undersized and are not protected.
L. 14” D.B.H. holly (Ilex) – this tree is not on this property. This tree had no
visible preexisting health or structural issues at the time of inspection.
Trees included in this report were inspected to determine if the trees were
misidentified, measured improperly, and to document any defects, disease, or decay
that meet the requirements to waive mitigation fees by the Landscape Department.
