NO. 87-19
WHEREAS, Firefighting is acknowledged to be one of our nation's most
hazardous professions; and
WHEREAS, Firefighters daily dedicate their lives to protect the life and
property of fellow citizens; and
WHEREAS, The firefighters work together on community projects to make the
State of Florida a better place in which to live; and
WHEREAS, These dedicated men and women contribute hundreds of hours to
those less fortunate by conducting annual charity drives for such worthwhile
health programs as the Muscular Dystrophy Association; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and appropriate that all citizens join the
Muscular Dystrophy Association in support of our fire fighters.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by The City Commission of Atlantic Beach,
Florida
THAT THE CITY COMMISSION HEREBY RECOGNIZES
JUNE 1 - 7, 1987, AS FLORIDA FIREFIGHTER
APPRECIATION WEEK AND COMMENDS THE CITY'S
FIREFIGHTERS .FOR THEIR EFFORTS IN BEHALF
OF THE MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY ASSOCIATION.
