A MEMORIAL ACCLAMATION AND RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC ,
BEACH COMMENDING ADELE S. GRACE FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE
This Memorial and Resolution is dedicated to the memory of Adele S. Grage for her service
to the Town of Atlantic Beach and to the City of Atlantic Beach, Florida. She will long
be remembered for her love and dedication to the City and numerous charitable, civic and
patriotic organizations.
Adele S. Grage, who was fondly known as "Mrs. City Hall” for 32 years, was born in
Atlanta, Georgia on March 29, 1896 and died on August 28, 1983 at the age of 87.
In consideration of the foregoing,
WHEREAS, Adele S. Grage having served as City Clerk/Treasurer-Comptroller of the
City of Atlantic Beach from 1941 through 1973 and
WHEREAS, Adele S. Grage assisted in the preparation of the Charter of The City of
Atlantic Beach in 1957. Adoption of the Charter in 1957 changed the Town of Atlantic
Beach to the City of Atlantic Beach, and
WHEREAS, The Mayor-Commissioner and the Commissioners of the City of Atlantic
Beach, Florida hereby acknowledge that they have lost one of their most valued and
respected citizens and express their sincere and heartfelt sympathy to her devoted family.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH
that Adele S. Grage be forever honored and remembered for her many years of devotion and
service to the City of Atlantic Beach and its citizens, and ,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a true copy of this Resolution be made a part of the
permanent records of the City of Atlantic Beach, Florida and that a copy, duly inscribed,
be presented to the family, while a permanent plaque of said Resolution be on display in
the lobby of City Hall, Atlantic Beach.
ADOPTED UNANIMOUSLY by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach, Florida
the 30th day of August, 1983.
