RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE STATE OF FLORIDA
DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS TO INCLUDE
THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH IN ITS APPLICATION
FOR PLANNING ASSISTANCE FUNDS FOR 1975
WHEREAS, the Board of City Commissioners of Atlantic Beach
has recognized certain problems in the Community which relate
to planning and management, and
WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Planning Assistance Program
administered by the State of Florida Department of Community
Affairs offers the opportunity to strengthen the community
development process through the conduct of a planning program,
NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of City Commissioners of Atlantic
Beach officially requests the State of Florida Department of
Community Affairs to include I~tlantic Leach in its application tc
the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for local
planning assistance funds for the fiscal year beginning July 1,
1975.

In accordance with the "701" local planning assistance
guidelines established by the State Department of Community
Affairs, the City of Atlantic Beach is submitting the following
inventory of problem areas in the community:
A. Planning Needs
1. Future Land Use Plan
2. Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Review
3. Community Facilities and Circulation Plan
4. Base Maps
5. Population and Economic Study
6. Initial Housing Elements Program
7. Environmental Assessment as it pertains to
Beaches and Intracoastal Waterway
8. Concentrated Plan for Control of
Development along Beach
B. Management Needs
1. Capital Budget and Public Improvement Program
