(State Municipal Revenue Sharing)
WHEREAS, the 1972 Florida Legislature successfully passed legisla-
tion relating to Taxation and Revenue Sharing with ,Local Governments,
and
WHEREAS, the 1972 Florida Legislature further enacted legislation
providing for Salary Incentive Programs for Law Encorcement officers,
and provided that the State Police,S~tanc~ards Council shall establish
reasonable rule and regulations pertaining thereto, with an effective
date of July 1, 1972,
WHEREAS, the Department of Revenue, State of Florida, pursuant to
the above legislation requires the receipt of a Certified Municipal
Report prior to June 1, 1972, in'order,to participate in Revenue
Sharing; the said report to contain certified answers to Police
Standards matters, which is not effective legislation until July
1, 1972, and the reasonable rules and regulations thereunder have
not been formulated, and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the~City of Atlantic Beach, Florida,
is fully desirous of participating in and being a recipient of funds
under the Revenue Sharing Act of'1972~
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, A5 FOLLOWS:
1. The City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach, Florida,
publicly declares that it is the full intention of the
municipality to fully abide by the letter and the spirit
of the present and future effective legislation and reasonable
rules and regulations thereunder in these matters, among
others, of Police Standards.
2. The proper City Officials are hereby directed with diligent
haste to file with the Department of Revenue, proper applica-
tion forms for Revenue Sharing, with a Certified copy of this
Resolution attached as an addendum thereto.
