[W]HEREAS, it has come to the notice of the City Commission
of the City of Atlantic Beach, Florida, that the properties owned
by the citizens of the City of Atlantic Beach have been re-assessed
by the Tax Assessor of the Consolidated City of Jacksonville,
Florida and
ZWIHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach,
Florida, feel that this action is premature, and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach,
Florida, feel that this re-assessment is discriminatory against
the citizens of the City of 'Atlantic Beach;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COP~JISSION OF THE CITY
OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWSa
1. The City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach, Florida,
wish to place on record its opposition to the re-assessment
action taken by the Tax Assessor of the Consolidated City of
Jacksonville and to state its feelings that such reassess-
ment should wait until such time as the properties in the
entire County of Duval are re-assessed by the Tax Assessor of
the Consolidated City of Jacksonville, Florida.
2. That copies of this Resolution shall be forwarded to the
Honorable Robert Mallard, Tax Assessor, Consolidated City of
Jacksonville, Florida and the Honorable Hans G. Tanzler, Jr.
Mayor of the Consolidated City of Jacksonville, Florida.
