71-01CITY OF .. . • RESOLUTION N0. 71-1 WHEREAS, it appears to the members of the City Commission of the City-of Atlantic Beach, Florida, that there is a possibility, or probability, that consideration is being given to the closing down of the United States Navy Base situate and Located at Mayport, Florida, and, WHEREAS, the members of the City Commission of the City of ~.tl-antic Beach, Florida, feel that it is not in the best interest of its citizens,:. or people of the surrounding area, that this Naval Base be closed `down, and, WHEREAS, this .Naval Base is situate and located in such close proximity to the Country of Cuba, and is the nearest Naval operation to that area which can accommodate large quanta.ties of Navy Shipping, and, WHEREAS, it is felt most strongly by alb. citizens and members of ~° the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach, Florida, that th3.s particular United States Nagy Base should remain under full operational conditions; NOW, THEREFORE, BE YT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COTSSTON OF THE CITY OF ATLI~NTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS; L.
