During the first year the project calls for recruiting anal hiring of 22 cade~:s by 11 police agencies in Reg~.:on III. The cadets will be required to enroll at a junior college in courses lead~.ng to an Associate Degree. ~.n Police Science and Administration. 'i~hi~.e in school they will work. for the employing agency for 20 hours a week, 40 hours When not in school. WHEREAS, under the terms of Public.Law 90a~S1, the United States of f~merica has authorized the Law Enforcement Assistance Admin~.stration, through the &'lorida GovernorQs Council on Criminal Justice, to .mare Federal Grants to assist local govern meats in the impr©vement of criminal justice9 and WHEREAS, City Council has examined and duly considered such Act and eoya~iders it to be in the Public interest and to its benefit to file an application under said Act and to author- ize other action ~.n connection therewith, N®W THEREF®RE BE IT ~R.ESOLVED ~Y THE CI`T`Y C®UNCIL IN OPEN. MEETING ASSEMBLED IN THE CITY ~F ATLArdTIC BEACH , FLORIDA, THIS BTH DAY ®F NOVEMBER 191 AS FOLLOWS: 1. That the project generally decribed above ~.s nn the best interests of the general public of City of Atlantic Beach. 2. That Hans Tanzler, 1~Iayor9 Jack.sar~ville, be hereby authorized to file an application in. the form grescr~.bed by the Florida Governor9s.Council on Criminal d'usMice in conformity with said Act,.£or a grant: to be made ~.~ assist in defraying thevcost of the project generally described aboveā€ž 3.
