~1'fIEREAS, the passing of John A. Re3.d has taken from
our midst a good friend, and,.
WHE~FtEA5, Mr. Reid has helped to make thc~ City a more
progressive and better place to ~,ive, having served
as Mayor of Atlantic Beach from August 1952 to December
1957, and prior to that he served as Ma~nicipal Judge
of the Town of Atlantic Beach, and,
WHEREAS,. through Nir. Reid's leadership as ;Mayor of
the Town, the building of the Atlantic Beach Water
System was completed and the preliminary work for a
Sewer System was started, and,
WHEREAS, The City Officials and the Citizens of Atlantic
Beach feel that we have lost one who always had the in~-
terast of the City and its people at heart,
-NOW THEREFt1RE ~T IS HEREBY MADE A MATTER.O~' RECORD, that
the City expresses its sincexe regret at; tie passing of
`:o'u~ friend and extends deepest sympathy to his loved ones
theiz hour of sorrow.
;8E IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution
be given to Mr. Reid's family.
