WHEREAS, it is known that MRS. EDYTHE B. CH~IBERS, for many ,
years the Principal. of Atlantic Beach Elementary School No. 65,
has now retired and will no longer be serving. in the capacity
of Principal of that school, and
WHEREAS, the citizens of the Gity of Atlantic Beach, Florida,
together with the Mayor, members of the City Commission and
the City Manager of Atlantic Beach, Florida, would like to
express their appreciation for the devotian Mrs. Edythe 13.
Chambers has always given, both to the pupils and to her position
as Principal of Atlantic. Beach Elementary School No. 65, and
WHEREAS, the citizens of the City of Atlantic Beach, Florida,
together with the Mayor, members of .the City Commission and
the City Manager of the City of Atlantic Beach, Florida., would
like to show some permanent form of appreciation to Mrs. Edith
B. Chambers;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CSTY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS;.
1. That the City of Atlantic Beach, Florida, with all speed,
.contact the DUVAL COUNTY BOARD OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION with
the request .that they take whatever steps are necessary
to change the name of Atlantic Beach Elementary School
No. 65 to "THE EDYTHE B. CHAMBERS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL"
2. That, if necessary, a Committee be formed within the
City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach, Florida,
to deal with this matter and bring it to a satisfactory
conclusion.
