I~tHEREAS, recent completion bf the-At~a.ntic Boulevard
(State Road 1{?) bridge oven- the Intracoastal tRaterway
constitutes a`great mproveiitent in vehicular access to
Atlantic Beach and adjacent communities, and
WHEREAS, further improvement of At~.antic $oulevard, by
four-Toning and easement of curves, has 'become an urgent
necessity due to obsolescence of that route and increase
of traffic thereon; which improvement has been provided
for in plans of the Jacksonville'Expressway Authority
NC~+T, THEREFORE BE TT RESt3L~TED BY TFi~ CITY COMMTSSTOY~T OF
THE CITY OF ATLAY3TIC BEACH, FLC)RTDA, that,
This City Commission does, on behalf of the geople of
the Aity of Atlantic Beach, hereby express to the Ja.ck-
sonville Expressway Authority our heartfelt thanks anc~
most earnest appreciation for the consumrc-ation of a much
needed-and long awaited improvement in the highway
approach to this City, and further,
The City Commission expresses, on behalf of the people,
its great interest in the early furtherance of plans
already prepared by the Expressway Authority to modernize
additional sections. of .A;tlantic Boulevard, and of Mayport
Road (State toad AlA), and finally,
To express the hope. of all the people in the Beach
Conenunities that the improvements .herein mentioned and
early..insta3.3ation of suitable and ad~c,{uate lighting on
the new bridge may continue to occupy a. preeminent position
in the allocation of funds by the 3acksoriville Expressway
Authority, and
