63-15RESOLUTION # 63-15 WHEREAS, the Department of Public Safety of the City of Atlantic Beach has expressed concern over the increased number of accidents on Mayport Road {S.Ra 10} within the Corporate limits, and WHEREAS, accident records show that during thy: first four months of the current Calendar year four {~} motor vehicle accidents occurred on Mayport Rvad (SoR. 10} between Atlantic Boulevard and the north City limits, and WHEREAS, accident records show that twenty-three(23} motor vehicle accidents involving forty-three (4~3} vehicles and one pedestrian, eight (8) injuries, two deaths, and an estimated 510,200°00 property damage have occurred in the past ninety (9th} days , and WHEt~EAS, the surface of this roadway as well as the shoulders have seriously deteriorated from frost damage of last winter as well as heavy truck hauling during the redc.nt beach restora- tion program NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLD THAT THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, DUVAL COUNTY, request that the Director of Public S.
