A RESOLUTION REQUIRING THAT ALL SERVICES
~'t RENDERED BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND POLICE
DEPARTMENT OUTSIDE THE TERRITORIAL BOUNDARIES
OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA BE
DISCONTINUED AND ESTABLISHING THE EFFECTIVE
DATE THEREOF.
BE IT BESOLVEDE BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA:
WHEREAS, for many years the Police Department and Fire
Department of the City of Atlantic Beach, Florida, have been respond-
ing to calls in areas outside the territorial boundaries of the City;
and
WHEREAS,.~The City of Atlantic Beach, Florida has never
received any revenue from these areas and the cost of Police and Fire
protection works an undue hardship on the tax. payers of the City of
Atlantic Beach; and '

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the
City of Atlantic Beach, Florida:
1. That the Director of Public Safety, The Chief of the Fire Depart-
ment, and the Chief of Police take immediate steps and issue necessary
orders that no more calls are to be answered outside the territorial
boundaries of the City of Atlantic Beach, Florida, effective 12:01 AM,
July 14th, 1959, except that when in the opinion of the Director of
Public Safety, the Chief of the Fire Department, or the Chief of Police,
a condition arises that presents a danger to the City of Atlantic Beach,
Florida, or its citizens, they are hereby authorized to leave the
territorial boundaries and take the necessary action to remove that
danger, and said Director of Public Safety, Chief of Police, and Fire
Chief are authorized to leave the territorial boundaries of the City
when called for help by other municipal police and fire departments and
the U. S. Naval Station at Mayport, Floridan and that
