The City Commission is comprised of an elected Mayor/Commission, who serves two-year terms, and four City Commissioners who serve four-year terms. The City Commission is responsible for appointing the City Manager, City Clerk and City Attorney; adopting an operating budget for the City; establishing boards and committees as necessary and appointing the members thereof; passing ordinances and Laws for the preservation of the public peace and order, and adopting caning standards for the City. Mission Statement: It is the intention of the City Commission to ensure that the City maintains and improves the residential quality of life now enjoyed by residents. Issues, Trends, Highlights: • In order to ensure that the mission of the City is carried out, the City Commission holds annual strategic planning sessions and solicits input from City Boards, City Sta$ and citizens for Commission consideration.
