RESOL UTION NO. 03-1 S
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH,
FLORIDA, HONORING COMMISSIONER MIKE BORNO FOR HIS
PUBLIC SERVICE AS A CITY COMMISSIONER
WHEREAS, Louis M. (Mike) Borno served the City and citizens of Atlantic Beach by serving
on various committees, and was appointed to the City Commission on April 14, 1997, to fill the
unexpired term of Commissioner Reed; and
WHEREAS, on October 5, 1999, Mike Borno was elected by the citizens of Atlantic Beach to a
further term on the City Commission; and
WHEREAS, Mike Borno represented the citizens and voters of Atlantic Beach in a forthright,
honest and objective manner; and
WHEREAS, Mike Borno took a keen interest in beach renourishment and participated in the
early morning beach patrols for the protection of sea turtles nests and subsequent hatching of sea turtle
~ eggs; and
WHEREAS, Mike Borno was not eligible to seek re-election on October 7, 2003 because of
term limits enacted by the City Commission; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission recognizes what a valuable and important contribution Mike
Borno has made during his tenure as a member of the City Commission and as a citizen of Atlantic
Beach.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the City Commission of Atlantic Beach, Florida,
hereby expresses its deep appreciation for the contributions of Mike Borno and extends heartfelt
gratitude on behalf of the citizens of Atlantic Beach.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy ofthis resolution be furnished to Mike Borno with
best wishes for his future happiness.
