Resolution No. 05-06AGEhUA ITE1t #6A JL;ItiE 27, ~(N)~ RESOLUTION NO: 05-OS A RESOLUTIOiti OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, A1+IENDING RESOLUTION 02-13 CREATING THE CLZTURAL ARTS AND RECOMMENDATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE WITH RESPECT TO TERMS OF OFFICE AND THE IViEV[BERSBIP' OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE TEEN COUNCIL, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTNE DATE WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Resolution OZ-I3 on July 8, 2©02 creating a new Cultural Arts and Recreation Advisory Committee, providing for terms of office and membership, and WHEREAS, the Board Member Review Committee has recommended that the enabling resolution for the Guttural Arts and Recreation Advisory Committee should be amended to clarify the provisions far a term limit and amending the language concerning the member from the Teen Council, and WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it in the hest interest of the citizens of Atlantic Beach that the resolution creating the Cultural Arts and Recreation Advisory Committee be ~"`'' amended in accordance with the recommendation ofthe Board Member Review Committee. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach; SEC'T'ION 1. That SECTION 4 of the Resolution 02-13 is amended to add language that an unexpired term of less than two years shall not be counted against the two term limit and also to specify that the President of the Teen Council shall automatically he the ninth member of that Committee. The revised SECTION 4 shall read as follows: "SECTION 4, ~Iembershio: there will be a total of nine (9) members on the Committee, eight (8} of which shall be appointed by the Mayor and the Commission, The ninth member shall be the President of the Teen Council. Members must be residents of Atlantic Beach. The terms of membership shall be for two years with a maximum of two full consecutive terms. Being appointed to fill an unexpired term for less than two years shall not be counted against the two-term limit. The initial appointments will he for staggered terms so that f ve members will sere two full two-year terms and the remaining four members will serve one-year terms. Members will be autornatically removed from the Committee if they miss three consecutive meetings unless their absence is excused by the Chairman. A member can choose to resign from the Committee at any time by giving written notice to the City Clerk." SECTION 2.
