ice-Chairman MacDonell called the meeting to order at 7:03 p. m.
ne asked for comments or corrections to the minutes of the
meeting of November 21, 1989. There being none, Mrs. Gregg
motioned that they be approved as presented. Mr. Bass seconded
the motion which carried unanimously.

OLD BUSINESS
A. APPLICATION FOR ZONING VARIANCES - ROYAL PALM AREA
1. Mr. W. R. Berini of 409 Mako Drive stated that he had
obtained permission to construct an open carport in 1985 from
then Building Inspector, Mr. John Widdows. The Board felt Mr.
Berini should not be penalized for incorrect information provided
by City Officials ( The Building Inspector ) .
Mr. Bass motioned that the Board grant the side yard variance,
after the fact to allow the open carport within 4. 5' of the
property line. The motion was seconded by Mrs. Gregg and carried
nanimously.
2. Mr. Henry Batts of 369 Royal Palm Drive reiterated the
point that there was no objection from his affected neighbors to
allow the open carport within 3. 5' of the property line. The
board again complimented Mr. Batts on the outward appearance of
his residence.
Mr. Bass motioned to grant the side yard variance, after the
fact. The motion was seconded by Mrs. Gregg and carried
unanimously.
B. REQUEST FOR AMMENDMENT TO VARIANCE GRANTED TO JOSE' NIXON
Withdrawn by the applicant prior to the meeting.
C. APPLICATION TO ALLOW A SWIMMING POOL IN THE FRONT YARD BY
STEVE AND LINDA YOCKEY.
Mr. MacDonell explained that the Yockeys did not create their own
hardship. They had applied for and were issued the proper
permits before starting construction.
Mr. Bass motioned to grant the variance, after the fact to allow
a swimming pool in the front yard. The motion was seconded by
Mrs. Gregg and carried unanimously.
D. AMMENDMENT OF CONTRACT QUALITY DEVELOPMENT TO PLANNED UNIT
DEVELOPMENT - "TIFFANY BY THE SEA"
Withdrawn by the applicant prior to the meeting.
HEW BUSINESS
A. REQUEST FOR EXTENSION OF REAR YARD VARIANCE BY GUY AND CAROL
JOHNSON - LOT 19, BEACHSIDE SUBDIVISION .
Mrs. Carol Johnson of 417 Ocean Boulevard explained that she has
been unable to sell the home in which she is presently living,
therefore, cannot begin construction on the lot for which the
variance was issued.
After further discussion, Mrs. Russell motioned to grant the
request for an extension of a rear yard variance for up to one
year. The motion was seconded by Mrs. Gregg and
carried unanimously.
B. APPLICATION FOR REPLAT BY SAM WATERS - LOT 5, BLOCK 3, LEWIS
SUBDIVISION.
Mr. Paul Eakin was present on behalf of Mr. Sam Waters and gave a
brief history of the property to be replatted. Mr. Eakin stated
that Mr. Waters plans to develop the property in a similar
fashion to as the previously developed properties. Mrs. Russell
?xpressed concern over the opening of Church Road. Mr. Eakin
stated that Mr. Waters had no intension of opening Church Road
due to the exspense. He added that there will be a maximum of 2
units per lot which is incomformance with the surrounding
properties.
After further discussion Hr. Bass motioned to recommend approval
to replat. The motion was seconded by Mrs. Gregg and carried
unanimously.
There being no further business before the board Mrs. Russell
motioned to adjourn the meeting at 8:45 p. m. The motion was
seconded by Mrs. Gregg and carried unanimously.
