The meeting was called to order by the dhairman Mr. Stynchcomb.
Minutes of the last meeting were read.
The Glass Ordinance was discussed at great length. The discussion covered
the minimum standards of different type of safety glass that should be
permitted to be used at the beaches and we thought we might duplicate the
standards of the F.H.A. which are as follows:
Where safety glass is recuired it shall meet the following tests:
Full Temnered glass:
(1) Particle test - the fully tempered safety glass panel shall be fractured
by impact with spring loaded center Hunch or by hitting a regular center
punch with a hammer. The point of impact shall be -r" to 1" from any glass
edge. When fractured, there shall be no individual fragment larger than
0.15 ounces.
Laminated glass:
TI) Boil tested.
(2) Impact tests.
Wire glass:
(1) Impact test.
The study of the Glass Ordinance will be continued.
The seawall situation was discussed and continuous study will be given this
until something constructive has been accomplished.
The zoning and Sign Ordinance was discussed and will recuire further study.
