411/ The Advisory Planning Board of Atlantic Beach, met October 17th,
at 7:30 in City Hall.
Mr. West, was absent.
The minutes of the last meeting were read.
Arepresentative from the Outdoor Advertising Comnv.ny, was present
• and stated he had made application for a sign to be n1aced on
Mayport Rd, and 4th street. He submitted it to the Commission,
and they referred him to the Planning Board. We discussed it with
him and said we would study the annlication and advise at a later
date.
Signs were discussed and suggestions made as follows:
1. Require a sign permit be obtained.
2. Require a bond.
3. Require signs be placed certain distances apart and
meet required rules.
Mr. Potter, suggested that tempered glass be reruired in our
building code, which would cover new construction and replacements.
The Board will recommend to the thmmission that t his change in the
building code be made.
Drainage structures were discussed. Mr. Potter, suggested that
MO regulations be made for building and maintaining drainage ditches.
The Board will recommend to the Commission that this regulation
be made.
Mrs. Martin, suggested water prices be reduced during the second
quarter, (April May and June) as an incentive to Atlantic Beach
residents to use more water in maintaining lawns and. flowers , thereby
helping our beautification -glans.
