REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING OF
ADVISORY PLANNING BOARD FOR THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLA.
AUGUST 18, 1965
The regular monthly meeting of the Atlantic Beach Advisory Planning Board was
held at the City Hall at 7:30 P.M. on Wednesday, August 18, 1965.
Present: Chairman Alan Potter, Mabel Marvin, D. H. Stynchcomb, A. J. Craig,
and C. C. West.
BILLBOARD ORDINANCE
Mr. Stynchcomb is to review the various ordinances submitted by the
League of Municipalities and return with his recommendations, in
order that the city's attorney may have some ideas for a similar
ordinance for our city.
SPECIAL COMMITTEES
Mr. Stynchcomb moved that if the commission is going to appoint a
committee to study any problems presented to them, then that matter
Se should not be referred to the Planning Board, and further, that if
certain recommendations are referred to a special committee, then
that committee should confer with the Planning Board before making
recommendations that are contrary to the recommendations by the
Planning Board.
Seconded by Mabel Marvin. Vote was unanimous.
RESIDENCE ICI ZONING
Chairman Alan Potter moved that the city freeze the present Residence
tet Zoning as it now is; with the exception of Lots 1, 3, 5, 7, & 8
of Block 9. It is further recommended that a line along the west
boundary of Lot 8 Block 12, Lots 7 & 8 Block 11, Lots 7 & 8 Block 10,
Lots 7 & 8 Block 9, and Lot 9 Block 8 be established as a division
between the lots to remain Residence tBt or tet, and that on lots
lying westerly of that line of said Blocks 8 thru 12 be re-zoned
from Residence tBt to Residence IA'. Those lots with existing
duplexes would constitute Residence ?At with non-conforming structures.
We recommend that long range consideration be given to the acquisition
by the city of Lots 1 thru 8 lying immediately North of the city hall
between East Coast Drive Plaza and Ocean Blvd. It is further recom-
mended that careful consideration be given to future request for
Residence tCt zoning, so that an apartment monopoly will not be estab-
lished or perpetuated by city government.
411 Seconded by Mr. Stynchcomb. Vote was unanimous.
Meeting adjourned.
Respectfully submitted by C. C. est
