Acting Chairman Robert Frohwein called the meeting to order
and asked for approval of the minutes from the meeting of January
18 , 1994 . Upon motion duly made and seconded the minutes were
approved.
NEW BUSINESS :
I . Application for Variance filed by Mr . and Mrs . Jerry Hoey to
construct a six foot privacy wall on their property located at 1936
Beach Avenue .
Mr . Hoey introduced himself and his wife to the board and explained
that the variance was requested to construct a six foot privacy
wall around his proposed swimmimg pool . He stated that a four foot
wall may not afford the security that was desired.
Mr. Worley explained to the board that south of 16th Street Beach
Avenue is considered the rear yard, north of that point it is the
front yard.
The board reviewed the first five questions listed on the second
page of the Application for Variance and the applicants and each
board member expressed their interpretations and responses thereto.
After discussion, Mr . Wolfson moved to deny the variance and Mrs .
Gregg seconded the motion. The motion was later withdrawn.
After discussion regarding possible alternatives , the applicants
requested the board to defer the application until a later date
when they moved into the home and had an opportunity to determine
if the requested variance was actually needed.
Mr . Wolfson moved to defer the application for a period of six
months from issuance of the certificate of occupancy with a
continuation of six months if so requested in writing by the
applicants . Mrs . Gregg seconded the motion and it passed by a
unanimous vote.
There being no further business to come before the meeting on
motion made the meeting was adjourned.
