06-23-65 v MINUTES REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING OF ADVISORY PLANNING BOARD FOR THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA June 23, 1965 The regular monthly meeting of the Atlantic Beach Advisory Planning Board was held at the City Hall at 7:30 P.M. on Wednesday, June 23, 1965. Present: D. H. Stynchcomb, Mabel Marvin, Alan Potter, Carroll West, and City Manager, A. J. Craig. AMENDMENTS TO PLANNING BOARD MEETING OF JUNE 23 1965 Re: Zoning application of Mrs. Bertha G. Hairston It is recommended by the Planning Board that the property of Mrs. Hairston which is part of the series of lots on the west side of Ocean Blvd. between Plaza and 10th St. be re-zoned to Residence 'RC". It is also recommended that the other lots on Ocean Blvd. between Plaza and 10th St. be re-zoned to Resi- dence "C". Specifically Lots 1 - 7, Block 1 Atlantic Beach Parkway, and that part of the Hotel Reservation owned by the Episcopal Diocese. Respectfully submitted, Carroll C.West, Jr. Secretary 1111 . HAIRSTON A letter was received from Mrs. Hairston re: property at Plaza and Ocean Blvd., Lots 5 & 6, requesting re-zoning to Residence 'tC"f from single family Residence j "Aft. A motion was made by Mr. Stynchcomb that,4all vacant property between 10th and Plaza facing Ocean Blvd. be re-zoned to Residence "C". Seconded by Mrs. Marvin, motion passed. I.B.BRATCHER Received a request from Mr. Bratcher of 60 W. 10th St. to re-zone this property from Residence "AC" to Business "B". This board recommends that a variance be granted permitting Mr. Bratcher to continue in business at this location and that underground fuel storage be permitted under the variance. Re-zoning to another classification is not recommended, also that the variance be terminated upon secession of this business be one of the conditions. Moved by Mr. Potter, seconded by Mr. Stynchcomb, unanimously passed. JAY CARTER This deferred because of lack of information. Mr. Potter moved that Section VIII Residence "D" District be deleted from the zoning ordinance and all areas zoned Residence "D" be classified under Residence "A". Seconded by Mr. Stynchcomb, motion passed. This new zoning would not rule out future consideration of Residence "B" or T". Mr. Stynchcomb moved that the city attorney draw up necessary ordinance to preclude any signs other than those situated on the property the business itself is constructed. Seconded by Mrs. Marvin, passed by a unanimous vote. Mr. Potter moved that the sign requests of Mr. J. Hawks of Lamar Dean Signs (size 12' 25') ofiMayport Rd. and Plaza, and the sign of Mr. Louie Stewart be denied as they do not Offer a benefit to the community. HUME 1006 1st St., Neptune Beach, Fla. - This board recommends that permit be withheld until a recorded deed be submitted. At time permit issued it is understood that house will meet necessary requirements as set forth in ordinance, etc. Moved by Mrs. Marvin and seconded by Mr. Stynchcomb. Motion passed. WILLIAM N. MORGAN, ARCH. - Moved by Carroll West and seconded by Mrs. Marvin that proposed apartments at Atlantic Beach Hotel site shall comply with ordinance due to the fact that a precedent would be established. Passed unanimously. Mr. Potter moved that the zoning ordinance be amended to provide for a maximum height of 301 and a minimum floor to ceiling height of 8t.
