Adjournment • • MINUTES OF THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BOARD OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA JANUARY 15, 1991 PRESENT W. Gregg McCaulie, Chairman Louis MacDonell Samuel T. Howie Kathleen Russell Ruth Gregg Johnny D. Bass Robert Frohwein AND George Worley, II Patricia Harris The Chairman called the meeting to order. The minutes from the last meeting were unanimously approved. NEW BUSINESS: I. Application for "Variance" for 41 Sixth Street from Section 24-85 ( RS-2) filed by William R. Thompson. Mr. Thompson introduced himself to the Board. Discussion followed during which Mr. Thompson stated that he was restructuring the existing roof as the ceiling was about to fall in. He also stated that the existing deck would be restructured and that he would add a roof over the existing deck and reroof and refurbish the exterior finishes. After further discussion, the Chairman called for a motion to approve the variance. Motion was made by Mr. Howie, seconded by Ms. Gregg and unanimously passed. II. Application for Use by Exception to establish a Teen Club at 18-20 Donner Road filed by Mr. Fred Lewis. Mr. Lewis introduced himself to the Board. The Chairman called for discussion. Ms. Russell stated that Chief Thompson was not in favor of said Teen Club at this particular location. Ms. Gregg pointed out that this location is close to her home and that the area is known for heavy drug traffic. Further discussion ensued in which Mr. Lewis indicated that said teen club would have pool tables, a library, game machines, food etc. , hours of operation would be from 4 :00 p. m. til 12:00 p. m. , Monday through Sunday with entertainment scheduled for Friday and Saturday nights. After further discussion a motion was made by Ms. Gregg to deny the application, seconded by Ms. Russell and passed in a vote from five to one. There being no further business to come before the meeting, the same was adjourned.
