Application for Variance filed by Deborah Howe to allow a retaining wall that is more than the allowed 6' in height on adjacent side of wall for property located at 1605 Beach Avenue. c. CITY HALL PRESENT Gregg McCaulie Ruth Gregg Samuel Howie Robert Frohwein AND Alan Jensen, City Attorney George Worley, II, CD Director Pat Harris, Recording Secretary ABSENT Don Wolfson Kathleen Russell John Bass The Chairman, Gregg McCaulie, called the meeting to order and asked for approval of the minutes from the last meeting. Mr. Frohwein moved for approval, Mr. Howie seconded the motion and the minutes were unanimously approved. NEW BUSINESS: I. Application for Variance filed by Dr. and Mrs. Marc E. Tafflin for calculation of height of structure to be based on previous code requirements for property known as Lot 8, Oceanside Court. Dr. Tafflin introduced himself to the board and explained the reasons why he had submitted the application. George Bull introduced himself to the board as the architect for Dr. Tafflin. Robert Frohwein stated he could not vote on said application and had filed Form 8B Memorandum of Voting Conflict for County, Municipal, and Other Local Public Officers. A general discussion followed and it was noted that a quorum was not present to vote on said application and the application was deferred until a special meeting could be called. II. Application for Variance filed by Deborah Howe to allow a retaining wall that is more than the allowed 6' in height on adjacent side of wall for property located at 1605 Beach Avenue. There being no one to speak on behalf of the application it was deferred to the next meeting. III. Application for Variance filed by William L. Echols requesting a side setback variance for property located at 501 Levy Road for construction of attached garage. Mr. Echols introduced himself to the board and explained why he was seeking said variance. After discussion, Ms. Gregg moved to grant the variance, Mr. Howie seconded the motion and the application was approved by a vote of 3 to 1. There being no further business, Mrs. Gregg moved that the meeting be adjourned, Mr. Howie seconded the motion and the meeting was adjourned.
