FLORIDA STATE FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE
UNION NEGOTIATION MEETING
JUNE 08, 2006
The negotiation meeting was called to order at 3:00 P.M. Those in attendance were:
City: George Foster
Union: Gary Evans
David Cameron
Dale Hatfield
The Union provided the City with their recommendations for contract changes. (See
attached Table summary)
2. The City provided the Union with their recommendations for contract changes with the
exception of pay adjustments which are delayed pending City Commission budget and/or
Shade meetings. (See attached Table summary)
3. Remaining Pay Study pay adjustments. The Union requested an update and was advised that
in accordance with the October 2005 Union contract, pay adjustments would be provided
during the first pay period in October 2006.
4. Sergeant Promotion Procedures. The union indicated that they desired to add to Union
contract and City advised that they desired to retain outside Union contract to provide City
with greater flexibility. City advised Union that no promotional policies would be
implemented without coordination with Union.
Pension Contribution Rates. Union was advised that State approval of this action was still an
ongoing item and that the City did not support any changes to the Union contract to change
prior negotiated Pension items. The Union and City had some discussions with different
opinions expressed on this subject. The Union also requested status on including a "buy
back" of service within the City Pension Plan and was advised that the status of this item
needed to be obtained from Pension Plan Administrator.
6. Adjournment.
The meeting adjourned at 3:45 P.M.
