REGULAR MEETING OF
TREE CONSERVATION BOARD
August 25, 2004
A regular meeting of the Tree Conservation Board was held on August 25, 2004, in the Adele
Grage Cultural Center. Present were Chair Maureen Shaughnessy, Charles Carroll, Elizabeth
Green, William Permenter, Building Official Don Ford and Recording Secretary Amber Lehman.
Absent was Jim McCue.
1. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 7:06 p.m.
2. Recognition of Visitors
Jenny Weisman of 937 East Cost Drive, Atlantic Beach, FL 32233.
3. Approval of Minutes of the Meetin o~~ust 1 1, 2004
A motion was made by Board Member Carroll, seconded by Board Member Green, and
unanimously carried to approve the Minutes of March 24, 2004 and April 14, 2004, as
written.
4. New Business
A. Tree Removal Applications:
1. 375 10th Street: Board Member Carroll made a motion to instruct building
official to issue a tree removal permit to remove 23 inches of elm and 8 inches of
live oak to be mitigated on site with a 4 inch oak, an 11.5 inch oak. And also to
remove three 12 inch palms, and one 13 inch palm that do not require
mitigation. If mitigation is not complete he will be required to pay the tree
fund.
Chairman Shaughnessy noted that there is debris that needs to be cleaned up from
areas on the lot (west side of lot and deck).
2. Lot 1, Block 125 Section H: A motion was made by Board Member Green, seconded
by Board Member Carroll, and unanimously carried to instruct the Building Official to
issue a permit for the removal of a 15 inch oak, 6 inch oak, 4 inch bay from the exterior,
and 5 inch oak, 2 six inch oak, one 6 inch bay, 7 inch oak, 10 inch bay, 18 inch oak from
the interior with a correction to the 10 inch bay that should be 23 inches of bay to be
mitigated with a one 5 inch oak and, one 4 inch oak, one 4 inch oak with two 2 inch oaks
additional in the exterior zone and one 5 inch sweet gum.
5. Old Business
Don Ford reported to the board that the homeowners of 1845 Hickory Lane and Seminole road
have not paid their fine; if fines are not paid by September 16, 2004 they will be going to the
Code Enforcement Board.

Don Ford also noted that he issued one tree removal permit of a 17 1/2 inch oak from the interior
zone with no mitigation at 1726 Selva Marina Drive.
