REGULAR MEETING OF
TREE CONSERVATION BOARD
March 23, 2005
A regular meeting of the Tree Conservation Board was held on March 23, 2005 in the Adele
Grage Cultural Center. Present were Chair Maureen Shaughnessy, Jim McCue, Jamie Fletcher
Charles Carroll, Stephanie Catania, Building Official Don Ford and Recording Secretary Amber
Lehman.
1. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 7:01 p.m.
2. Recognition of Visitors
None
3. Approval of Minutes of the Meeting of March 16, 2005
A motion was made by Board Member Catania, seconded by Board Member Fletcher, and
unanimously carried to approve the Minutes of March 16, 2005.
4. New Business
A. Tree Removal Applications:
1. 150 Sherry Street: Board Member McCue, seconded by Board Member Carroll,
motion unanimously carried to instruct building official to issue a tree removal permit
to remove one oak tree with dual trunks of 20 and 23 inches due to the state of decline
of the tree and to be cognizant of the possible dangers associated with the tree. No
mitigation is required.
2. 1200 Mayport Road: A motion was made by Board Member Carroll, seconded by
Board Member McCue, and unanimously carried to instruct the Building Official to have the
owners of the property to resubmit the tree removal application in accordance with. the_
guidelines of tree board.
2. 1726 Selva Marina Drive: A motion was made by Board Member Carroll, seconded by
Board Member McCue, and unanimously carried to instruct the Building Official to issue a
tree removal permit for the removal of 82 inches of oaks, 92 inches of hardwood, 563 inches
of palms, and to be mitigated with 121 inches of oaks, 23 inches of laurel oaks, 16 inches of
cherry, and 316 inches of palm.
B. Proposed Tree Ordinance
Attached are the changes to the tree ordinance thus far.
