TREE CONSERVATION BOARD

A regular meeting of the Tree Conservation Board was held on April 13, 2005 in the Adele Grage
Cultural Center. Present were Chair Maureen Shaughnessy, Jamie Fletcher, Stephanie Catania,
Chuck Carroll, Jim McCue, Building Official Don Ford and Recording Secretary Amber Lehman.
1. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 7:01 p.m.
2. Recognition of Visitors
3 Approval of Minutes of the Meeting of Anri113.2005
A motion was made by Board Member Carroll to approve minutes from the April 13, 2005
minutes, 2°~ by Boazd Member Fletcher, unanimously carved.
5. New Business
A. Tree Removal Applications
1. 1960 Beach Ave
A motion was made by Boazd Member Carroll, seconded by Board Member Catania, and
unanimously carried to instruct the Building official to issue a tree removal permit to
mitigate 12 inches of oak onsite and a minimum of 4 inches offsite at Jack Russell Pazk.
2. 1863 Mayport Road
A motion was made by Board Member Catania, seconded by Board Member Carroll, and
unanimously carried to instruct the Building Official to issue a tree removal permit to
remove163 inches of pine, 37 inches of elm, 95 inches of camphor, and to be mitigatied onsite
with 19 inches of oak, and 89 inches of cypress.
3. 2263 Ocean Forest Drive
A motion was made by Boazd Member Carroll, seconded by Board Member McCue and
unanimously carried to the Building Official to issue a tree removal permit to remove three
10 inch oaks, one 19 inch oak, one 36 inch oak, one six inch oak, to be mitigated onsite with 14
inches of oak, and 16 inches of oak, Jim McCue.
4. Lot 23, Block 6, 5"' Street
A motion was made by Board Member Fletcher, seconded by Boazd Member McCue and
unanimously carried to to write a letter to the Community Development Boazd stating
that the Tree Conservation Board recommends that they consider a 2 foot side Yazd relief vn
the east side in order to preserve a 24 inch oak for garage only, the builder has
recommended pylings at the owners request to relieve stress from the tree to attempt to preserve
root structure. The neighbors opinions will be included in the variance request.
A motion was made by Boazd Member Carroll, seconded by Board Member McCue and
unanimously approved to remove 24 inches of oak in the exterior zone and to be mitigated
~ onsite with 12 inches of oak and to remove 272 inches of palm, 19 inches of sweetgum, and
29 inches of unknown.

5. 33910` Street
A motion was made by Boazd Member Fletcher, seconded by Board Member Carroll, and
unanimously carried to remove five 13 inch trees in the interior zone and one 13 inch palm,
two 13 inch palms, two 14 inch palms in the exterior zone, and to be mitigated with 27
inches of various species of which 13 inches is preserved onsite, leaving 14 inches to be
mitigated on site.
B. Proposed Tree Canopy Ordinance
There will be a special meeting to discuss the proposed Tree Canopy Ordinance Thursday
May 12, 2005 at 7:00 at Adele Grage.
