06-08-05 v"` MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF TREE CONSERVATION BOARD June 8, 2005 A regular meeting of the Tree Conservation Boazd was held on June 8, 2005 in the Adele Grage Cultural Center. Present were Chairman Shaughnessy, Vice Chair Jim McCue, Jamie Fletcher, Stephanie Catania, and Recording Secretary Amber Lehman. 1. Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 7:01 pm. 2. Recognition of Visitors There were no visitors. 3. Aaaroval of Minutes of the Meeting of May 25.2005 A motion was made by Boazd Member Catania to approve minutes from the May 25, 2005 meeting, seconded by Boazd Member Fletcher, unanimously carried. 4. New Business A. Tree Removal Application 1. 105 West 6t6 Street Lots 1-6 Mr. Grant Van Dusen (absent from meeting) submitted an application to the Tree Board to remove several trees on lots 1-6 at 105 West 6~' Street. Mr. McCue stated that he wanted to have the applicant resubmit the applications with the correct interior and exterior zones noted on the maps. A motion was made by Board Member McCue, seconded by Board Member Fletcher, and unanimously carried to instruct the applicant to resubmit their tree removal applications for 105 West 6"' Street, Lots 1-6 with the interior and exterior zones noted on the maps as well as the proper diem of the trees that they intend to remove. 2. 1220 East Coast Drive, Lot 23 Ms. Lynne Roskein submitted an application to remove to the Tree Boazd to remove 10 inches of oak in the exterior zone, 33 inches of oak in the interior zone, and 30inches of palm in the interior zone due to the trees being to close to where the proposed house will be built. June 8, 2005 Tree Boazd Minutes A motion was made by Board Member Fletcher, seconded by Board Member McCue, and unanimously carried to instruct the Building Official to issue a tree removal permit to remove 10 inches of oak in the ezterior zone, one 33 inch of oak in the interior zone to be mitigated with 21 inches of oak with placement to be determined. Also to remove 6 fifteen inch palms, l thirteen inch palm, l fourteen inch palm to be relocated on the southerly 75 feet of lot 24 with placement to be determined. Owner shall submit a written statement from a certified arborist if any of the trees on the property are dead and cannot be saved. B. Proposed Tree Ordinance Amber Lehman reported that the proposed tree ordinance would not be on the City Commission Meeting Agenda for June 13, 2005. Ms. Lehman also stated that she would send Donna Hussey an email with the proposed tree ordinance attached asking if she would give the City Commissioners a copy of the ordinance for their review. Ms. Lehman stated that she would ask Ms. Hussey if the proposed tree oridanance could be put on the next agenda for the following meeting. There was further discussion on changes to the proposed tree ordinance. 5. Old Business Ms. Lehman reported that the Community Character workshop would be held on June 14, 2005 at 2:OOpm. 6.
